Carbon and biomass estimates are only as good as the tree measurements behind them. I wanted per-tree numbers, not plot averages.

I segmented airborne LiDAR to isolate individual trees, extracted their structural features, and predicted per-tree biomass with classical machine learning.

  • Produced individual-tree biomass estimates across the survey area.
  • Built a repeatable workflow that can be re-run as new LiDAR arrives.
